i think i'll always have a soft spot for yunahon just because of how it related to my life at the time it came out though i think basking is probably the better record. i like sore thumb well enough but i dont think it's on the level of the two that preceded it. honestly haven't listened to enough of real stories to have an opinion on it.
all are great, but Basking is special. the real ones also remember State Lines- those albums rule too. I have faith they have a classic in them.
god i completely forgot about state lines lol. two awesome LPs and an EP. the amount of good shit in his discography is pretty wild when you sit back and think about it.
this SLS tour smacks of tour you do when youve finished an album and are waiting for it to drop so you can do a headliner fwiw
I always feel weird being a "first album is best" guy, but I really don't think Jade has ever topped Hoffman Manor. I listened to it again last week and it's still pretty much perfect.
basking is the best but yunahon and sore thumb are brilliant. I’ve actually never heard real people I don’t think
Hoffman Manor is beautiful and raw and encapsulates a specific time for me. It’s sort of perfect in all its imperfection. It reminds me a bit of Tell All Your Friends in how messy but pure it is.
As much as I love the Oso Oso albums, the state lines stuff just hits differently and can't be touched imo.
Great show in DC last night. Changed up the setlist from other times I’ve seen them and the new song is awesome. Arrangements were a bit looser than other times I’ve seen em, definitely neat touch. Can’t believe Yunahon is 7 years old lol
