i caught this dude playing to like 10 people in a basement a few months after yunahon came out. wanted a cd and a shirt but didn't have the full cash to swing it, but he gave it to me anyway. looks like hes blowing the fuck up now. so happy for him.
This is a very, very good album, but I can't help feeling that it would be an all-timer if the guitars occasionally got beyond 'crunch' up to 'rock' in the album's biggest moments. I just want that catharsis a few times.
I had an opportunity to see him play a hole in the wall after Yunahon dropped. I guarantee no more than 20 people would have been there. I’m regretting not going now for sure.
I feel like they break up nice, idk I think too much distortion would take something away, I think there’s actually a nice amount of dirt on all the guitars.
they sold out Bowery Ballroom last night. the floor was shaking, everyone knew the words to all the new songs. Oso Oso is that band right now.
this album is really really good. obv this could change w more listens, but rn I think this is much more consistent than yunahon, but that one has more standout tracks
Mowed my grass today, in 100 degree heat, 95% humidity, and listened through this for the first time. It was good.
Idk what my favorite song is but the bridge in priority change is one of my favorite moments in music this year
To be clearer, it wasn't a specific complaint about guitar production so much as just wanting a few moments where the songs really explode.
it's a (probably zoomed in and cropped) picture taken on Jade's phone blown up to the size of a record cover so yeah that'll do it
