I feel really bad for this dude. He is getting absolutely harassed by thousands of weird Drake fans today.
I recommended it to a coworker who was going to the movies a couple weeks ago, they had never heard of it and didn't bring it up again so I presume they saw something else. Will see if it comes up now
I don't talk movies with these people at all but during class change one of the teachers had no idea what it was or when it came out.
I got this job because I brought up I had just seen Megalopolis in the interview, my boss had no idea what it was but it lead the us to talking about The Conversation which we both loved.
And then a third teacher butted in saying that they just watched The Whale and it was their new favorite movie and I had to go back in my room.
I am, as ever, wildly behind on movies in general, but I'm really happy to see that In the Shadow of the Cypress won best animated short, it deserved it. Also glad Flow won best animated feature and that Kieran Culkin got his flowers (I know people have feelings about that character but he absolutely crushed it imo).
You can meet the requirements just by having diverse makeup and costume departments. You can probably count the straight males in those areas on one hand.
I’m Still Here was a lock for Best Int’l due to the BP nom it stood no chance of winning, but really feel like not enough people know about or have seen/read up on The Seed Of A Sacred Fig. An incredible background behind how that movie was made secretly in Iran to avoid arrest, and then smuggled out to Germany to be released. Would not be surprised to see a documentary feature about it at some point. How to Make a Movie in Iran and Not Get Caught: Inside ‘The Seed of the Sacred Fig’
I don't know about you guys, but on at least five occasions today, I've laughed to myself about the Emilia Perez songwriter lady trying to start a sing-along for a song nobody knew/liked and just getting completely denied. Amazing television moment.
