I am a bit wary because of the amount of people that dislike part 2 for some reason. Part 1 was fine enough but I think the writing is weak.

The writing has its moments and when it follows up with the visuals it pulls off some great cinema. Other people have said their peace on what didn't work for them In the thread

Gonna be wild next Oscars when it's Safdie vs Safdie in the best director category

The score and cinematography are enough for me to at least like it. Brody and Pearce are doing great jobs.

Conan is the best oscars host since... Billy Crystal? It's insane how much better he is at this than Jimmy Kimmel

Bringing out the receipts to say: My gut was right about a lot of this shit this year!

The Picture/Director split obviously didn't happen, though I was thinking when The Brutalist was rolling for a minute last night that Brady might clinch Best Director.

If you didn't like the writing in the first half, I think you're going to have some notes about what happens in the second. Definitely curious to get your final thoughts.

I recall John Stewart being a lot of fun the No Country for Old Men year.

I do like they gave Billy Crystal his flowers for being the GOAT Oscars host.

It’s impossible to get a consensus “best movie of the year” but I’m not mad about the last 3 best picture winners. 3 good movies in a row have won. That’s impressive

What’s the worst loss of the past decade? The Irishman and the Fabelmans losing sting for me

I know it’s not the same as a loss, but one of the worst wins has still got to be Green Book beating out just about anything else nominated that year.

The Fabelmans should have run the table that year, IMO.
