Going to try to get most of the animated features done by Sunday. The only one I don't know of I'll be able to do is Memoir of a Snail.
Bad news everyone, mums trying to get out of the movies. Says she's on the church roster for morning tea. The trauma never ends.
My mother will ask for me to take her to the movies and I usually say yes even though it is something I have no interest in, but then when it comes time she almost always backs out because she doesn't want to waste time even if I ended up moving plans around to accommodate her.
Anyone know if I’d need to upgrade to Hulu plus live tv or will I be able to watch just on a regular Hulu subscription?
Memoir of Snail is probably my favorite of the bunch, neck and neck with Flow. You should still seek it out, even if not before the ceremony.
Just a reminder for doc feature noms: Black Box Diaries is on Paramount+. Sugarcane is on Hulu/Disney+. Soundtrack to a Coup D'etat is on Kanopy for those with a library card. Porcelain War and No Other Land aren't available to watch outside of theaters in US yet. Actually I don't believe No Other Land even has a US distributor yet.
Apparently there is a bunch of controversy around Black Box Diaries in Japan. The doc is made by a Japanese journalist investigating her own SA by Shinzo Abe's official biographer. I guess she got called out by her own former attorneys for unethical documentary practices. Showing witnesses faces in footage unblurred without their consent. Using footage that was under court order to only be shown in legal proceedings.
Just finished evil does not exist. Nickel Boys is still my number one of last year but that’s a very close second. I want to rewatch already.
I watched No Other Land on the channel 4 app in the UK which is available on there for 30 days and man I really hope it wins the best documentary oscar big time
