    I do hope the brutalist gets a couple wins at least. Always a bummer when a masterpiece goes home empty handed (see: Marty’s last two movies)

    Brutalist doesn't come out here in Norway until next week Friday - will absolutely be seeing it opening night

    I thought this even before that BAFTA win, but I definitely think Mikey Madison still has a shot in Best Actress. Reminding me a little bit of the Cillian Murphy and Michelle Yeoh wins. Lots of speculation in both of those years that Giamatti and especially Blanchett would take it, but the love for the Best Picture/Director winner pushed those performances over the top.

    I think the screenplay awards are basically both locks at this point. Conclave winning Adapted and Anora winning Original.

    Idk about won, but he should have definitely been nominated for Dune 2 and Blade runner for direction

    Yea its kinda wild he got snubbed twice for Dune directing noms now especially considering how easy it would have been to not nominate some of the others that got in

    The Oscars have an absolutely appalling track record when it comes to sci-fi, so it's really not that wild.
