I figure it'd be like SAG's Outstanding Cast Ensemble award but for the Oscars the award go to the casting director.
Caught the animated shorts tonight, typically not too enamored with them but I was surprised to really only like a couple out of the seven very much
Seeing the shorts on Thursday. The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and The Horse won last year and it was easily my least favorite.
Cillian just won Best Actor at the BAFTAs so I think that makes him a near lock for the Oscar. We’ll see what happens next weekend at the SAG awards.
Emma just won the BAFTA for Best Actress so I’d say it’s 50/50 Lily or her for the Oscar. Lily wasn’t nominated for some reason for the BAFTA though so it was obvious Emma was getting it lol.
Man, people are weren’t kidding about that War Is Over animated short. At first it was just a fine, inoffensive, but forgettable short. But the end really goes full Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad. Nauseating bad. Letter to a Pig and Ninety-Five senses were solid. Our Uniform was almost the best of the bunch but it just ends out of nowhere.
The moment in 95 when he goes from “so I burned the place down” to “didn’t know Cricket and his family lived up there” was such a whiplash of emotion. Rare to do you get to hear a crowd of people laughing and immediately stop. Really great transition there
Cillian won Best Actor at the SAGs so he’s basically a lock for the Oscar now, and Lily won Best Actress so it’s really a toss up between her and Emma for the Oscar. Oppenheimer won Best Picture so that’s definitely winning the Oscar.
