Bummer Mulaney passed on the offer. The invite does seem open for a future ceremony when this year is another disaster at least
Wish I had a "famous person who is an alumni of my high school" that I could actually be proud of. The most famous alumni from my high school is Ron DeSantis.
Oof that's rough. I just have John C. Reilly, the lead singer of REO Speedwagon (who coincidentally has the same last name as me so everyone (incorrectly) assumed we were related lol) and some not huge name professional athletes.
Well now that I remember we also have all time great TV director David Nutter (GoT, Band of Brothers, X-Files, ect) as an alumni too.
My high school wasn't built until 1998 so the alumni list is low. The golfer Billy Horschel is probably the most famous. We cling to the fact that Jim Morrison grew up around here, though.
Jim Morrison went to the same community college I went to!. St Petersburg College - Clearwater campus.
He was born here in Melbourne but moved a lot. This area used to be a lot smaller so it must have been very boring. Carrot Top, Darrell Hammond, and Daniel Tosh spent a lot of time in this county, too. That is pretty much it: athletes who maybe played one or two professional games and some comedians.
i went to four different high schools so there's been quite a few. viggo mortensen at one and brad pitt at another.
Astronaut High is on the far north side of the county. Brevard is a really long, thin county. It can take an hour to get from the south to the north side. We used to call Titusville "Titus Vegas" because there was nothing to do there, but it really took off when the Northerners all started coming here in 2021.
eh I've had to go back a few times the last few years and there is still absolutely nothing to do there lol
I haven't actually been there since 2015 for a basketball game but that is what I heard. You still need to drive to Orlando for culture, though.
I also have a few NFL players, a couple MLB players, and a LPGA player. Crawford Ker who was an O-Lineman for the Cowboys in the 80's and later went on to found the Winghouse chain is from my town and used to come do D.A.R.E talks at our schools a lot. Michael "Pinball" Clemons who is considered the greatest ever CFL player and later head coach and currently GM of the Toronto Argonauts went to my high school too.
