it's my last place too but it is good. it's a "paint-by-numbers biopic" for sure but it's executed about as well as you can for that kind of movie. Mulligan is fantastic and while Cooper is good, some of their scenes together really highlight the gulf between the two, talent-wise. I'm ngl though, it definitely did sell me on Cooper as a director. As a writer? Ehh not so much. But give him a good writer and a supporting instead of lead role and I think he'd make a killing
he didn't write the movie. i think he's listed as a co-writer for tweaking a finished script but the writer of spotlight and first man wrote it.
Only BP nominee I haven't seen yet is The Zone of Interest, but that only just came to my local theater so I should have time to see it before the awards.
