The ceremony was one of the worst I've ever watched overall (seriously fuck the whole "haha we didn't watch any of these movies, isn't liking things dumb" energy. This isn't going to somehow attract an audience that is gone forever and never will watch the show. It's an insult to people that actually watch the show & the movies and even moreso to the people that put their hard work to make these movies in the first place. Celebrate the movies or go fuck yourselves)

 

Are there any televised awards ceremonies that are more focused on actual cinema?

Actually yea video essays that give countdowns of their favorite films of the year are a better celebration of cinema than the fucking academy awards. Insane it's gotten to this point

 

Haha funny thing is i never actually watched the damn clip. Holy shit that got awkward fast. He goes up and slaps him, which you can barely tell, and at that point looks like a bit. And it's like okay, fair enough. Its Wills high level "get my wife's name out of out mouth" that got the crowd all...... oh, oh. Oh no.

I will say the take about Chris Rocks composure during and after is pretty remarkable
