Black women are constantly policed about their hair and regardless, a "joke" regarding someone's health issue is never warranted. If you'd like to explain to me how and why I'm reaching, by all means go ahead
Been meaning to say this on a number of occasions today but I have never been more curious about the racial makeup of certain threads on this site. I’ve also never been more certain of some of y’all’s backgrounds lol nbpoc here if you care quoting this unsurprisingly shit opinion for no particular reason at all :)
Finally watched the clip and I just have no clue how people mistook this for some kind of Mean Girl Dig and not thick irony that only works because she’s a nominated superstar. Didn’t look scripted to me and idc if that’s a lie, but it was so clearly just awkward at worst imo.
Not sure everyone here has seen GI Jane and understand the reference. I’m sure most women would prefer not to have autoimmune disease to lose their hair early. That’s not limited to a race. And as offended as you may be by the joke, trying to justify assault is bizarre to me.
pretty shitty for you to mischaracterize as one entity the obviously diverging groups of “rock was wrong and Smith was justified” and “both were wrong.” also incredibly fucked that you have fully ignored basically every question or direct criticism you’ve gotten from anyone, especially from those who have been willing to expound on the hair issue for you. I CAN TOLERATE MUCH BUT NOT BEING COMPARED TO PHAYNES!!!!1!1!1!
Is this really not a bit? Like K, honestly, when this keeps happening to you, do ever stop and go, “maybe I’m the common denominator?” What’s it gonna take? I figured a thread ban would open the eyes to this ridiculousness, but here we are again. I’m exhausted, again, reading this same routine. At some point I’ll probably just get sick of it and take the “ban them” advice. I’ve been tryyyyying to get through to you but at some point I’m just the definition of insanity.
.K. reminds me of Forrest Gump. Would it be quite underhanded if I actually said “.K. appears to be a confident dullard”? Sure! But the important thing is that it’s not an insult because the movie isn’t mean to Forrest about what a fucking idiot he is, I guess.
ok this was weird fun but also reminded me why I stopped doing forums for a while so I will stop. messing around, you were the first one I could think of who’s been doing what .K. is accusing everyone(?) of doing haha
@.K. On the off chance you'll stop trying to run into the same brick wall of stupidity to have the time, try actually watching Good Hair. It's 1 hour and 35 minutes and available on Peacock, Roku, Hoopla, Vudu, Kanopy, Plex, and IMDBtv on Prime.
anyone can let me know if this is a bad place to have this conversation but — I’ve seen a fair amount of negative thoughts about Good Hair today from Black women, and it made it clear that I need to rewatch it with fresh eyes. It came out when I was 17. I guess I don’t have a real question..? But basically this topic is not in my lane and you’re the only one here who’s addressed it and I’m wondering if you have any thoughts on the issues people have mentioned about Rock or the doc overall?
I hadn't seen any of that today, noted! I haven't seen it in a minute. I'll probably give it another watch soon. Thanks for mentioning that. Main point I was trying to make is that there are plenty of places K can find this information if he'd like to prove to all of us he isn't as dense and obtuse as he seems to be
