I can only speak for myself, but I think your conclusion is sensible only if a lot of your main points are taken as standalone facts like in a legal test. The many elements of context missing from your post are a big part of why I don’t think anyone needs to be giving such a generalized take less than a day after a big cultural moment.
Thought I was in the Accountability in Entertainment thread and wondered why everyone suddenly finds violence so amusing but now it makes sense
So since it’s been less than 24 hours, but more than 12, is the only reasonable thing to do is to post of people’s Twitter posts and meme’s? People feel way to entitled to self appoint time lines as to when people can react to something. If someone’s take is to generalized for you, in a message thread you have the ability to scroll past with ease. Also, you have no problem liking generalized opinions on the new Kevin Devine album (which you and I both love) days after release with feedback like “good album” and “liking this a lot”. Personally, I’d rather people feel comfortable participating, whether it’s a “good album” comment or a track by tack review. Don’t see why I can’t post a first thought here.
Buddy I explained why your bad take is being called bad even if the facts included are mostly true. Take it how you want but this response is nonsense. If I’m talking context and the appropriateness of offering strong conclusions hastily, and your response is to compare my approach to first impressions on a piece of music, I really don’t know what to say. Edit: And what the fuck is all this about “self-appointed timelines” and skipping over the content I disagree with or dislike, as if I told you to gtfo and shut up? I’m participating in the thread, silly. Like you. I’m disagreeing with you. It’s how it works.
Sorry this is just so stupid that I need to quote and respond again. Please tell me what I said that gave you the impression that you were being shut down, silenced, or told you “can’t” in any way whatsoever. Why share what you know is an empassioned opinion on a topic of controversy if you’re going to act like this when your approach isn’t lauded?
Can we just ban K already? Also, the dumb fuck Snyder fans popping on my timeline acting like Zack won real Oscar’s last night. Bunch of idiots.
I know it's funny for some to read and see this play out over and over again, but why has K not been banned yet from this website for their stupid posts? What is the point of letting them keep posting asinine shit in threads repeatedly?
Anyway has anyone talked here yet about how “keep [xyz] out of your mouth” is a ridiculous phrase that has never made a person seem badass or tough?
Super random, but someone tweeted me a gif of “sure, Jan” the other day and I was literally watching the movie that very moment. Spooky. Haha
