i want parasite to win bp but i am not understanding this 1917 hate at all

 

Having seen all the nominees except for FvF, I can confidently say there isn't a bad movie in the bunch other than Arthur Clownman. The other 8 are all at the very least good.

it's fine. it's just such a strong year that there's a solid 5-6 nominees better than it

 

it's just a boring and safe choice when there are such better options, especially Parasite

 

Agreed. Though I'd call Jojo a gentleman's six at best.

 

1917 was good on a first watch, but so much of the luster wore off after the "all in one shot" hype died down. Aside from that, it's just a very standard, boring war movie.

 

All you saying your love 1917... name two songs by them.

 

i'll say this: 1917 won't even be the worst best picture winner from that director if it gets it

I thought Jojo was great, personally. I'd still rank it below Parasite, Irishman, OUATIH, Little Women, and Marriage Story but I still thought it was great.

Little Women is my picture of the year no matter what wins tonight (have only also seen OUATIH, Marriage Story, Joker, and The Irishman) and I will watch it every weekend when it gets a home release.
