The little synth parts just take this to 11. A perfect example is the second pre-chorus and chorus of Few and Far Between. That song is already ripping along, and then you get the bop/bop/bop/bop 5th, 3rd and root notes. Rick Beato would have a field day with these guys if they could catch his ear.
Their setlists are kind of crazy. I’m trying to work out what they might play when I see them twice in a few days, and it turns out the answer is anything.
I actually might like this more than Gami Gang? It's just so so solid and such a quick listen of no fat.
I quite like an EP like this that just pushes me to set my player to “repeat all”. There is zero fat here. It is literally just 22 minutes of pure fire and I can’t get enough of it.
I know the Relient K influence has been discussed quite a bit, but wow do I feel that influence deeply on Few and Far Between.
Gami Gang was the album that got me here, but looking back it feels kinda jerky song to song. This feels a bit more cohesive. I can't say which I like more, but I do hope they continue in this direction. I was curious how they'd break out of what I thought was kind of a limiting, yet amazing, sound.
Damn damn damn not sure what I was worried about this hits the spot. What a closer. Edit: What a closer, again.
Absolutely love GAMI GANG and think it’s absolutely great. I don’t want to take anything away from that, but this new collection of songs has been my go-to for the last week and think THIS sound is them at their best.
All love Mr. Peppercorn but people from this site and pop-punkers have been raving about them! Welcome aboard.
kobayashi maru makes me feel things i haven't felt since i first heard 666 flags and doctor whomst. this band is so special.
So good for a "mixtape"! I've just bought myself tickets to fly over to UK for a couple days lately, and I really wanted to get the most of it and go catch 3 shows in a row in Manchester, there's an Origami Angel gig with Prince Daddy and The Hyena on thursday and for the smallest of the three it's actually sold out ;( if anyone here would have any ideas how to get some luck finding tickets or anything, I'd appreciate it!
Co-signed. Kobayashi Maru is an incredible song and I'm happy to see all the love for it on here, and yet somehow it might be my least favorite on this absolutely stacked release. Second Best Friend is just insanely good.
