getting hella back into this band and seeing I no longer have to contemplate selling a kidney for their vinyl releases is fantastic.

 

Can’t stop listening to this. These songs are next level and great. It goes so fast and I selfishly wish there were even more lol

 

I wish there was no ukulele. Like nails down a chalkboard to me.

I have now listened and honestly I feel like the past 10 year of pop punk was ruled by The Wonder Years now Origami Angel are the logical successors.

And for everyone citing the MCS Comps well that was the first thing I ever thought when I first heard Self Destruct which was my into to the band.

 

God DAMN. This is sunshine on headphones.

I think this is my favorite release from these guys. Sounds like a perfect hybrid of MCS and Relient K.

 

The melodies on this are reminding me of the pure summer joy of the first Silver Sun album

 

Second Best Friend is a JAM.

 

the uke to a metalcore riff is so sick

 

By far my favourite at this early juncture.

 

Few and Far Between is such a ride.

Man, I love all of this so much.

 

I can’t for the life of me figure out how they would pull that off live, but I will pay handsomely to watch them try.

Also, that track and many others feature the best oozin’ ahhs this side of Bad Religion. That kind of immersive background stuff really makes this pop beyond even great records in the genre.

 

Yo even the ukulele bits have grown on me.

Really looking forward to seeing these in Milton Keynes & at 2000 Trees festival.

 

Great album. Constantly impressed with how fucking insanely talented this band is.

The only song I wish wasn't on the album is My PG County Summer because it just doesn't sound like it goes with the rest.

The production is great except I wish the vocals were pushed a little forward in some of the earlier songs because I really love his lyrics and vocals so it would be nice to hear it a bit more clearly.

 

it's all fantastic but kobayashi maru sticks out as my favorite rn.

I just don't get it. They're SO good and reinvent themselves while maintaining their identity/sound every time. It's nuts.

 

Right! And they manage to balance having really great influences (MCS, RK) while also standing out as so unique and true to themselves. Just love what they’re doing.

 

They might have some of the best intros to albums ever. The intro on Gami Gang goes so hard and the catchiness is perfect. This one was a great buildup/transition into their signature sound.

Just a wonderful band all around.

 

Did a discography run today. Pretty much only bangers.
