I think Gami is the band I’m most excited about these days.

Saw them last night for the opening night of their tour with Microwave and they sounded so great.

 

Like the entirety of the BDs EP better than the new track but it’s still good. BPM feels a little slow imo

 

yeah not sure what it is but that song didn't do a whole lot for me on first few listens. i'm sure i'll like it just fine once i ease into it/ hear it in context of whatever's coming.

 

Not my favourite song of theirs but neither was Thank You NJ and that record turned out great. Nor certain I'd have loved, say, Neutrogina Spektor if I'd listened to that when it was a GG re-release track either

 

I just want another record from them. The Brightest Days is one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to see if they top it. Some of the best sounding guitars I’ve ever heard.

 

Much like TYNJ, I hope this song slots perfectly on an album. I have absolute faith it will.

 

Saw them yesterday in Chicago for the 3rd time. Such a fun show to experience.

All of those confirmed albums are Q3 lol so not sure here. More singles in Q2 or a typo?

Riley came out in April, Gaffa Tape Sandy came out in May

 

TBH i knew ILYL and Macseal come out in Jul and Aug and assumed the rest in Q3...but this still makes the post confusing

The mixtape is such a perfect soundtrack to all the summers I’ve had in DC. PG County Summer and seeing all 3 hometown release shows is obviously super on the nose, but last summer made Brightest Days an instant classic for me.

 

The Brightest Days fucking rules. One of my top 10 favorite records since 2020. Don’t care that it’s only an EP. Vibes are immaculate.

I would say it’s the best form of the band, but I’ll say the best so far. “Fruit Wine” has grown on me a ton, even if it doesn’t quite hit the same high. But I see it happening on other songs.

Weird /perhaps deflating q: does Fruit Wine “count” as the Q2 release?
