As far as FNF goes, for me it's my least favorite thing they've done. There's some really good stuff on there but sometimes songs on the album blend together for me. It feels like what I liked about GG and TBD is the variety of different styles mixed in to their music that I didn't get this time around. A lot of the change ups into heavier stuff is very predictable this time around. But there are still songs on the album I do enjoy and I want to see what OA does next, but I don't see myself returning to this album a lot.
It's great but it did make me think there would be more of that sound mixed into their usual stuff haha.
That's exactly what I thought too. It was like the songs Humility or Cracker Island by Gorillaz. Great openers but completely thought the rest of the albums would have some of that sound and was bummed they didn't.
My vinyl was "delivered to a package locker" yesterday, and I just had to call USPS support to figure out what that meant, so I guess it's...feeling not found :(
I like this album a good bit. The title track is a banger. I feel like it's more refined and structured compared to some of the early stuff that grabbed me though it's still got plenty of originality and 'randomness' (key changes / tempo changes etc).
The second half of Sixth Cents might be my favorite breakdown/capper or any short and sweet song all year. Just a flamethrower of a song.
