trailer on tuesday A young writer is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago. Surrounded by the star’s cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.
On one hand, it's another "creepy rich people doing some weird stuff in an undisclosed location" movie. But it looks good
Why is everything going to VOD in 2-3 weeks now? And why do they keep revealing this information on the literal release date of the film?
I guess that answers the 2nd part, but I mean, the information is out there somewhere. So the studio or whoever has pre-emptively decided to put the film on streaming only 2 weeks after its release without any real indication of how it will perform at the box office.
I think it might be a contractual thing at this point. At least that's the only sense I can make out of it. Even movies that are doing well at the box office have quick turnarounds. So they must've decided this well in advance and can't back out now. And they keep doing it, so I guess it's working for them? It's just killing the theater industry.
Yeah, it's just this part. I have AMC A-List and love seeing things in the theater, but with things leaving so quickly, I miss a lot so I'm kind of considering dropping the subscription with how quick I can just watch from home now.
the only people ive seen say anything positive are the hosts of big picture, who are friends of the director. probably gonna skip until it's digital
