Steve James' doc about Ted Hall, the physicist who was on the Manhattan Project and leaked info to the Soviet Union, is out on VOD today.
I'll be interested to see how this goes over on a second viewing tomorrow morning. Hoping to put the pieces together a little more clearly with all the names this time around.
Watched this in IMAX again today. It gets better with each watch. For those disappointed in the Trinity test, watch it in IMAX.
Really loved this, saw it in 70mm and it was stunning, def check that out if you have a chance. historically I haven’t been much of a Nolan fan, but credit where it’s due, I didn’t think he had it in him to go so bleak
I thought this was great! Definitely need to see it again in theaters, so I’ll probably take my parents to see it in the coming weeks.
Overall i really enjoyed this, probably Nolans best film and a huge improvement in writing/dialouge. I found it extremely compelling up to the bomb. There was a women in the theater who talked through the bomb scene, I really wanted to tell her to shut up but I couldnt understand what she was saying and thought theres a big chance if youre talking during this scene youre metally handicapped. After 30 seconds I was convinced she wasnt disabled and told her to shut up. I was so fucking mad I have no idea if the bomb scene worked. After the bomb the movie kinda falls apart, the nuclear guilt bits were good but for some Nolan reason he already blew his best line earlier during a weird sex scene. After inventing a weapon that can blow up the world the stakes fall off a cliff into petty academic drama, whos gets to be on a comity, losing security clearance?? Its played up like a murder trial but its a rug pull that goes on for 40mins. Einstein coming out the shadows to talk to him on his drive way was hilarious.
https://m.economictimes.com/news/in...23-details-here/amp_articleshow/102880237.cms I wonder if it has the legs to beat Inception’s earnings, but I’d be surprised.
I forget where I read it, but this is apparently the highest grossing movie never to hit #1 at the box office.
