Having your theater experience ruined by someone in the audience is the worst, especially if it's your first viewing of a movie. I've become a lot more selective about when I see movies, and it's been mostly great in recent years. Opening nights are good because anyone going on opening night is usually excited about the movie and wouldn't be a dick. Morning or late night showings are also good. I avoid discount days like the plague. I'm probably gonna see Oppy in Cinemark XD and would be shocked if someone pays extra to see a 3hr biopic and ruin it for others.
There is a couple who constantly go to Thursday night screenings and bring their baby with them in a stroller. The ignorance on their part is astounding. I try to see earlier Thursday showings to avoid them now. I don’t blame anyone for avoiding the theater for various reasons. But I just like seeing the movies in theaters too much to just give it up. Yet.
