I have no doubt this will be a tremendous performance by RDJ and his best film in years. The piece of him in the opening look is promising. He and the rest of the talent are going to bounce off of each other well. It’s like a THR roundtable but they’re actually acting instead of having discussion.
Worth nothing that the last few films to not be given a wide release in Japan had heavy sex scenes. Given the “extended frontal nudity” this could be the case here and it’s just coincidental that it’s a film about the first atomic bomb. The main distributor of Hollywood films within Japan (Toho-Towa) is expected to see a screening within a few weeks.
I have tickets to both at 7 on Thursday. Going to run back and forth between each movie every 10 minutes.
