yeah I think I'll end up doing IMAX and 70mm. makes me think Barbie will get the Dolby screens at my theater? but maybe it'll still be Dead Reckoning

 

Isn't 70mm also IMAX?

 

I'm no expert at all but they're listed as different showings at my local AMC. Maybe it's got one of those fake IMAX screens

 

Hmmm I'm pretty sure 70mm is IMAX and one is just digital projection vs film stock but I could be wrong. Mine is playing the 70mm in the IMAX theater

 

I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood… in 70mm and it was amazing. Highly recommend.

 

My Cinemark has fake imax, it’s just a larger screen.

 

I think Dead Reckoning looks pretty great, but it does seem to keep getting shafted by weird circumstances. It seems like it just has bad luck.

It's unfortunate and I get being pissed. But at the same time they could just have not released it right after lol

Barbie is the real movie that probably gets fucked, it's not gonna get any Imax or Dolby and I'm sure it would have.

Anyway I guess I'll go through the hassle in seeing this in 70mm imax, probably worth it at an AMC over 70mm at an indie theater

IMAX has two formats, full size 70mm film projection & digital 4k projection, usually marketed as 70mm IMAX & IMAX respectively.

 

Theres one in manhattan i may bite the bullet and make a night of going in to see it

 

I live in Ontario. Love that there’s a legit imax theater next to an outlet mall. I think I’ve seen every Nolan movie there since Dark Knight.

 

Now thinking I might just take the plunge and drive an hour for that

Wow - I had no idea one of the very few real ones was actually in Providence, RI. I may actually be able to catch this one the way Nolan wants me to.

 

looks like a lotta film nerds in nyc already wanna see this opening weekend in 70mm. dorks!
