I just want to add a rule where you should actually provide the name of the band/project that you're ranking
I don't think that should be a requirement but I think you should have to defend a placement if another user asks about a placement. I do think it would be more interesting though if people did explain though so I'm on board if people want to. I'd probably do it on a band by band basis since some are a lot easier to talk about than others. Yeah there's been a few posts where I'm like "I have no idea who this is" and I feel it's not to much work to put the name of the artist right on top of a list.
If you care at all about the bands that I've been ranking, you'll know who they are. If you don't, just move along, these aren't the droids you're looking for.
Seems weird to not post the artist you're ranking imo. The list could be used as a gateway for people to get into the band they hadn't heard of before, why not post the artist at the top?
But want if I want to check out a band I've never really checked out before? Not really on board with that logic.

sunny day real estate How it Feels to Be Something On Diary LP2 The Rising Tide (absolutely NO shade to The Rising Tide, which I'm listening to right now)
To be fair, I haven't listened to either in quite some time. Edit: it's also misleading to use the word worse, it's really just about what I'd reach for the most, not about good or bad.
Diary is such a formative album for me and I really like LP2, but I've just never listened to the other two. I should change that.
I didn't make this thread to make people write a thesis about each artist they rank. If you want to provide explanations, go for it, I agree it could be interesting - but def not something I want to be a requirement in here
Perfectly said. I know there are a few bands I can and want to do explanations on, but honestly the majority of bands are just simply "I like x more than y". Still interested in people doing write ups if they want to of course.
Most of them have at least one self-titled album, if that's not enough information for you, I don't know how to help you. The rankings of a true fan, I think is what you mean.
