Oneohtrix Point Never (Daniel Lopatin) is an experimental electronic act that frequently draws on what might be termed "ugly" music as influence. His last three proper albums, Replica, R Plus 7, and Garden of Delete represent the cutting edge of music and production, with each exploring their own ideas to their logical, beautiful or disturbing (or both), conclusions. His most recent solo album, Garden of Delete, drew heavily from experiences had while touring alongside Nine Inch Nails and in many ways reflected the "moment when childhood mutates into pubescence, when even your own body can’t be trusted."
i wanna buy ear plugs lol i honestly dont see this being healthy for my hearing considering he has played pitchforks concert series "tinnitus" lmao
everything he's done is really top notch honestly, hard to listen to rifts because its fucking three hours long but man he is just on a different plane of existence
Just listened to Garden of Delete. I felt like it lost me a couple times, but that's probably just due to my inexperience with the genre, and the sudden left turns that some of the songs take always drew me back in. The pretty section in the middle of "I Bite Through It" is one that really stuck out to me. I definitely recognize that there's a lot of cool stuff going on here though, and I am interested in exploring it more.
