The only better PTA movie that I’ve seen is There Will Be Blood. I do have some to watch admittedly though.

This was the meme that made me see it right away.

I think Benecio’s character was kinda fun. All I can think of at the moment.

I loved this and all but at this point I really don’t think he’s ever going to top TWBB or The Master. Which, not many films do, sure

  5. I thought we already knew Sean Penn was an asshole? I sometimes remember someone as problematic but forget why

Seated for round two and this should be interesting - before the trailers even started someone just yelled “too loud!” to a few people who were talking several rows back.

Anyway, stoked to be seeing this again. I rarely see movies multiple times in theaters. Last one was I Saw the TV Glow.

if every theater chain in america adopted the alamo drafthouse policy this country would run so much more smoothly

Benicio is so good in this. Penn is too and will likely get awarded but between this and Phoenician Scheme, great year for Benicio

Doesn’t Alamo have servers coming in and out with food/drinks and checks?

yes they also have a zero tolerance policy for phones out and talking during the movies

i haven’t been to an alamo but ive been to several local places that copy their policies/concept and you hardly ever notice the staff unless they’re serving the people right next to you. they have it down without being disruptive as opposed to people just yapping or checking their phones lol

You write your order on a card and press a button so the waiters come quietly to grab it. They have it down really well at Alamo

Alamo is also supposed to also shutout late-comers but I haven't seen that happen in a minute

My local theater chain sucks, but there's a drafthouse out in Lubbock I'll occasionally make the two hour drive to for indie movies/rep stuff that has no shot of playing in my market.

    Are you in Midand/Odessa?

I lived there about 10 years ago. I remember they built a new theater that was pretty decent right before we left.

Yes lol, it's a terrible place to live. That would be the Cinergy, the Regal shut down a few years ago so they are the only game in town.

Yea I lived in Midland for a year, off of A St, by Midland Airpark and then we built a house in Odessa (Renaissance Estates?) and lived there for 2 before we finally got the fuck out. I’d say we hated it, spent a lot of time and money at Cork & Pig when that opened.

I saw Wolf of Wall Street and Nightcrawler at the Regal there and Inside Out at Cinergy. It’s definitely a cultural hellhole.

God, this was even better the second time around. One of my favorites of the decade so far.

Audience seemed to respond just as well to it as the audience the first time I saw it did.

WB is planning on keeping this in theaters for a while and delaying a VOD/streaming release - so hopefully the weekly drops are good and WOM keeps it afloat. Also A LOT of people that have seen this plan on going multiple times its that good

It is probably an awards player so it makes sense. Hopefully word of mouth is good but I wonder how average people perceive this.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve heard from this many friends irl about having seen a movie for a second time with their family or something
