Just got out of a screening for this, easily top 3 PTA for me. The runtime flew by. 10/10 would recommend. Instant classic the moment they dropped Christmas Adventurers.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

yeah this was amazing. I haven't seen a PTA film since The Master I suppose I should catch up on those

Penn was kind of annoying though or at the very least Doing Too Much, every time he did that mouth thing I was instantly out of the moment. think the next film should all be musicians who can vaguely act

Seeing it again tonight. Kind of demands multiple viewings. Certainly one that feels easy to rewatch forever

There are elements of the movie that kinda got me buying into the rumor that Pynchon himself actually did get a crack at the script.

  10. i was wondering if pynchon got pulled in somehow

The Christmas adventurers club feels so Pynchon I thought it was from the book but apparently it’s not

Damn. Doesn't look like I'm gonna be seeing this tonight after all.

But silver lining, it's because I just got a free ticket to see Model/Actriz instead.

This fucking rules. Goes a little too long with an unnecessary scene at the end. my audience pretty much checked out when they saw Lockjaw survived. People just had loud conversations until the final scene with Leo and his daughter

Fucking incredible. And I thought plenty of scenes were super intense - I definitely don’t agree with that part of the above take.

Top tier PTA for me, full of energy that really only slows down toward the end. Felt of the moment in ways that felt way too real at times - was reminded of Eddington, but more intense. Only criticism would be the one scene someone else alluded to - it was fine, just felt superfluous and dragged the movie out an additional 5-10 minutes.

Take arms, it'll all blow over Prestigious

Surpassed my expectations. Great companion to Eddington but I wouldn't say it's as intense or dark (not that those are necessarily indicators of quality in themselves)

Great movie. I think instantly a top 3 PTA? Honestly thought Penn was the stand out. Lots to unpack. First 35 minutes were unrelenting but perfect.

Lockjaw asking for someone to make him a reason to deploy gave me chills.

My god. I don’t think another film will top this for the rest of this year.

He some how packed 5 hours worth of a movie into 2 and a half hours and made it fly by.
