I generally don't enjoy seeing movies with people. I take my mother once in a while but there is nothing in movies that requires other people.

 

I do find myself tensing up a little more if i bring other people to a movie I wanted to see. That sinking feeling of "oh no do they hate this"

 

I honestly think I’ve probably seen every movie I’ve seen in theaters this year alone, except for the 3 superhero films I saw with my brother & nephews? Oh, and I may have forced my one friend to see Nosferatu with me at the start of January; forget the exact timing.

Most of my current peers either aren’t passionate about seeing movies in theaters, or have different tastes, or have schedules that don’t align quite with mine. And, I also often like deciding last minute on a whim to go, which is obviously easier alone.

 

Going alone is the best.

 

I’d say the only benefit of going with other people is that you instantly have someone to discuss the film with afterwards.

 

Yeah I really romanticize the “loitering outside the theater analysis” hangout

 

I do see most movies alone, was just hoping for some company for this one.

I remember getting super stoned and seeing Silence alone at like 11PM, was an amazing experience. Only other person in the theater left after like, 20 minutes lol.

 

I think the pendulum is swinging too far to the "go alone" side.

 

There is really only one thing better with another person but they keep making new technology to close the gap.

 

I worry this is going to go unappreciated

 

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon so I decided to just take the entire day off, which means I’m canceling my Friday ticket and will instead be seeing this tomorrow at 4pm.
