Last to Know - 10 Portland - 9 Strawberry Mansion - 7 High School Friend - 12 I Can’t Stop Drinking - 6 Strangers Forever - 13 Hello Exile - 8 Anna - 11
Another tough one. Portland High School Friend (My favorite on the record) Strangers Forever Anna (This one was extremely difficult)
Last to Know - 11 Portland - 13 Strawberry Mansion - 9 High School Friend - 15 I Can’t Stop Drinking - 7 Strangers Forever - 17 Hello Exile - 10 Anna - 14
Portland High School Friend Strangers Forever Anna I haven’t spent as much time with this album as I would’ve liked to these past couple of months :/
Last to Know - 11 Portland - 15 Strawberry Mansion - 10 High School Friend - 16 I Can’t Stop Drinking - 8 Strangers Forever - 18 Hello Exile - 10 Anna - 16
I just need everyone to know ahead of time- If ‘Strain Your Memory’ gets the same bullshit treatment as ‘Your Wild Years’, we are gonna have fucking problems.
Last To Know High School Friend Strangers Hello Exile (best song on this record, it's a travesty that they haven't played it live)
27/35 max votes are in. I’ll leave this round open today as long as necessary. Closest matchup is currently a difference of three votes.
I will not be voting in this round since I’ve only heard the singles and was supremely underwhelmed and never listened to the album
I’d urge you to give it a listen when you have the time! While I enjoy the singles quite a bit, I don’t think they’re overly representative of the whole picture here. Some of it is Menzingers by the numbers, sure, but there’s also a lot of other things going on sonically that really put this whole record together. For me, it was definitely more a grower than ATP, but I’ve come to really love it.
IMO Anna was the only good single. I don't like High School Friend or Strangers, but the rest of the album is really, really good.
