I guess I'll jump into the bracket here, as it's not too hard to listen to these two songs and, from what everyone here has said for the last decade, I should probably give OTIP a listen finally Time Tables (although I do really like both of these)
I’m going to leave this round open until around 7pm EST, and then set up the opening round of OTIP. I’ll let that round run the rest of the weekend and then we’ll proceed. @JRGComedy are you able to vote on the opening round of OTIP if we start it tonight?
This is super tough for me. These two songs really represent what made the band special in the early days. More aggressive than their current sound but I feel like a couple of songs that just rip like these would still work seamlessly with a more mellow album like HE. Their sound is so flexible. I thought Time Tables from the start but Rivalries is a super close second. Time Tables is great but it's always annoyed me that he says "we were only just friends" haha. Anyone know what he means by covering stilts? Or why he's giving her a dollar? Unsure if I am just missing something or if these are American terms I don't understand. Anyway: Time Tables
ON THE IMPOSSIBLE PAST ROUND 1 ____________ The Obituaries vs. Sun Hotel On the Impossible Past vs. Mexican Guitars I Can’t Seem to Tell vs. Good Things Nice Things vs. Ava House Freedom Bridge vs. Sculptors and Vandals
The Obituaries Mexican Guitars I Can’t Seem to Tell Ava House Sculptors and Vandals I Can’t Seem to Tell vs. Good Things was the hardest one yet for me. I love both of those songs so much.
