I started following Dan on IG after listening to this (Episode 72: Carly Rae Jepsen) song exploder for Carly Rae Jepsen's When I Needed You and realizing that he was from ATAL. Since then I basically check out every song he posts about producing and his page is where I first heard of both Conan Gray and Olivia now
I’m just saving my money for that eventual Taylor Swift/Olivia Rodrigo tour. I would be very surprised if she doesn’t end up opening for Taylor.
another artist the kids are into. His music is very much like Olivia's and his voice sounds like her often as well. Dan produced his whole album.
Pop Thread (let’s be honest though specifically Steve) put me onto Conan recently and I’ve really been digging his last record
definitely give the full album a listen at some point, some really solid stuff on there and he's definitely one to watch, especially with Dan on board
My wife and I were talking about this watching the SNL episode...how many times do you think she's ever performed/played these songs live in front of an actual audience? Someone in here can probably answer better than me, I don't know if she's done many talk shows or other stuff, but because they came out when they did as her very first releases, it seems wild that she's as popular as she has become but still has basically never played a show.
a year ago was just watching the highskl musical remake and thought she was just young actress starting out, and shes pretty much the most popular name in song charts lol
Yeah from what I may have read in one of her interviews, between her acting career and COVID putting a stop on concerts, she didn't have the opportunity to test the waters in a live setting. It means we're basically going to see her evolution as a performer in real time, which is interesting for an artist of her rapidly growing size.
Dan Nigro’s second wind as a producer of absolute bops is a storyline that always makes me feel good.
This is gonna be a huge seller. I see this being as big as "Future Nostalgia" was for Dua Lipa, if not bigger. I don't know a lot about chart performance or anything, but that's just a guesstimate from my perspective.
