A popstar that sings about Glee and Billy Joel is a popstar for me. Excited to hear the new one tonight
Great song, reminds me SO much of Conan Grey's Checkmate when the chorus hits, she legit sounds like him in the chorus its crazy
i know youtube views lag when a video first drops but still wild to see the like to view ratio. tidal wave incoming song is fantastic
This track dropped at the perfect time for me cause I've been listening to almost nothing but Maggie Lindemann and Renforshort for the last 2 weeks, and this feels very much in that same universe. But yeah it absolutely goes either way.
That’s a great music video. Song doesn’t do much for me though. That little crescendo after the chorus is cool and I can see the bridge going off live
Dan writes and produces with Conan too. I don’t know that song but it’s possible there’s a reason for that similarity!
Oh I know, and that's probably why it's always in my head, but I can't unhear it sometimes! Conan and Olivia seem like really good friends now, probably because of Dan producing all their stuff. Anyway, great song:
I LOVE this track, I just want to play it back over and over. I liked “deja vu” a lot but this is like the biggest earworm I’ve heard this year (and I’ve still somehow never heard “drivers license” in its entirety lol). Sounds like Riot! meets Melodrama. Song of the summer. Hope there’s more like it on the album.
it's good. there's something about the production of the choruses that sounds weird to me, but it's very catchy. i think i like the other 2 songs more.
I can't really shake the way that the chorus sounds exactly like Paramore and it's distracting me, especially because the rest of the song doesn't really have that same vibe.
The vocals in the second verse (the sort of melodic semi-rap) were already really reminding me of Misery Business as it was.
I listened to the song before I saw the Paramore comparisons and I don’t think it ever would have crossed my mind. There are some vague similarities, sure, but I don’t really think it’s that drastic.
Samesies, but I think it's mostly the aggressive and high pitched vocal delivery in the chorus that brings that comparison. It actually reminds me more of this song imo I love how the lowkey verses contrast with it too. The fact that all 3 singles have been so different from each others is really impressive. Showcasing this much versatility right off the bat bodes well not only for her debut but for the future of her career as well. Bring on the album.
good 4 u is definitely my favorite off the album so far! I also love how each single so far is like the different stages of a breakup. driver’s license = when the breakup first happens and you’re absolutely heartbroken. deja vu = when you start to become passive aggressive and anger starts settling in. good 4 u = you feel nothing but anger and just want to shout “fuck you!” I’m about to turn 20 and it just feels refreshing that somebody can capture the exact emotions of teenage heartbreak (I know she’s 18, but still haha).
