Verified fan registration does little to nothing to prevent bots. The people that have bots get emails the moment these verified windows open, allowing them to run in and register for codes before most of the public even knows there is a verified registration. It puts them at the front of the line. They get the code, they load it into their spinner, and viola. Now they have even less competition on sale day.
The venue she’s playing in Detroit is the same that’s hosting Courtney Barnett, Mitski, and Lorde, all artists who, though certainly popular, aren’t remotely within striking distance of what Olivia has done this year. Kind of a weird decision.
Yeah, same with Boston. Brand new venue that The Story So Far just sold out. The secondary market on these is going to be absolute insanity.
Going to be awesome for anyone who gets tickets to see her in those venues, but yeah, completely mystifying decision to not shoot for bigger rooms.
There was an article that came out a few months ago that explained why she would be doing smaller venues…it’s probably in this thread somewhere
I get that maybe she and her team didn’t want to shoot for arenas right off the bat, but she absolutely could have gotten away with it.
This tour ends in like June, right? I wouldn't be surprised if they immediately announce a Fall 2022 arena tour.
While NBA arenas probably would have been too big right off the bat, those 8,000ish outdoor amphitheater’s that acts like Phoebe, HAIM, Paramore, etc. have been or will be playing would have been a happy medium IMHO. Or even the smaller arenas that fit roughly 10,000 people.
She's playing where I just saw Harry styles so does the venue cap vary by date? It is where I'd expect her to play unless she's doing a lower cap configuration. Either way I'm going for it
You are doing your touring artist a major disservice by jumping straight to arenas. Let her hone her live chops, the demand will be there later.
Arenas as a first tour just seems weird for anyone regardless of how popular lol. It would be overwhelming for her and I think it's good to give the fans shows in some smaller venues. I know I would much rather see her at a 5000k cap venue than a 20k cap arena.
Yeah I mean to be clear I’m referring only to demand, which is objectively a lot higher than these venues would make you believe
Are you talking about Moda Center? Harry did a full 360 arena, while Olivia is doing Theater of the Clouds (~18,000 vs 6,500 arena configuration)
