I don’t think she’s winning all of them Especially when she’s up against Happier Than Ever and Evermore for Album of the Year
Evermore is the best album nominated for AOTY, but it's the only nomination that Taylor got (other than for songwriting on Sour). It's not winning.
I think she sweeps the Big Four. Possible they split Song/Record of the Year, but Album and Best New Artist seem like done deals to me.
I think Olivia is going to win Best New Artist for sure. I think the other 3 will be tricky. I could see Billie winning album of the year again. I could also see Silk Sonic picking up ROTY & H.E.R. picking up SOTY. But I’m just guessing! I’m not saying it’s impossible for her to do a big sweep haha it’s just what I feel right now.
"Driver's License" is winning one of those big awards. Maybe both. No way it gets passed over for both, though. As for album, my feeling is Olivia has all the juice that Billie had two years ago when she swept. I think Grammy voters will be more excited about anointing her than giving Billie a victory lap. I don't think there's as much energy around Happier Than Ever as there has been with past repeat winners, either.
I was thinking album of the year easy, but I didn't listen to the TS album and haven't spent much time with Billie
I don't dislike H.E.R. by any means, but being lauded as basically the only female R&B act that exists in the eyes of award shows is off-putting.
I can’t believe how much pushback we got in this thread for suggesting that Adele might still be the most powerful commercial draw in the industry.
I could not imagine managing to be mad about this. But also, like, the one good thing the Grammys can do. Nominate and award talented artists that haven’t broken big yet. My issue isn’t with the Grammys loving her. It’s with the rest of the world not fully catching up yet.
Each to their own, but I feel like she's the most diluted form of R&B, which is currently a very exciting genre. Nothing bad about her, but no one needed a 21 song album from her
