No, while Drake is clearly a behemoth, when we’re talking about tallying up end of the year charts, sales matter greatly due to how it's weighted. For example, you might not have thought this but in 2018 technically Reputation “outsold” Scorpion.

You can disagree with me however you want, but the conversation was about the way that sales affect the charts. The fact of the matter is that while Drake routinely tops streaming charts, he has never had the number one selling album of the year by Billboard standards.

“Physical sales don’t matter anymore” is simply not true, from the perspective of someone watching how hard people on the inside are working to get those sales.
