I actually have a listen to the Best Of Olivia compilation from the HSTM show and enjoyed a few of her songs, one or two were really good

 

There are some incredible music moments across the show for sure.

And I still honest to god do not hear the resemblance. Like yes I get that they have a similar spirit but it just doesn't sound that similar to me

for what its worth, it was confirmed that while Taylor and Jack now have writing credit on Deja Vu, it wasn't because they pursued it, but rather Olivia's label pre-emptively did added credit themselves. So this could be a case where the same thing happened. if it's true.

Probably a fair point, and part of my naivety haha I have no idea who ultimately makes that call.

 

I'm sure someone may have pointed this out when they first heard the song long before me hearing it right now, but this reminds me of....Ting Tings I think?
