beyond the obvious taylor influence bc of the sample/interpolation on "1 step forward, 3 steps back" that song really evokes early Regina Spektor me sorta feel like Spektor's influence is rather underrated on the current generation of *indie* influenced pop musicians
She's kind of fascinating to look back on in retrospect. Was absolutely everywhere for like two years, and yet I'm not sure I've heard anyone talk about her in a decade.
I'm surprised they didn't have to credit Taylor on "deja vu" considering that shouty part is basically lifted from "Cruel Summer"
This shit absolutely rules, gonna be playing this a whole lot this summer! Weird comparison but it kinda reminds me of the first illuminati hotties album with the way she hits a really good balance between total rippers and really beautiful tracks.
High school me would’ve been waiting for the “Punk Goes Pop” versions of these songs to feel okay listening to them
I think I might be in the minority here but the opener is my least favorite song on this by a country mile
