I know this must behave already been said, but the idea of Gen-Zers introducing each other to Billie Joel is very amusing to me.

 

A side is perfectly sequenced. I really like that pop music tended back towards hyper specific lyrics. Could use a few more upbeat songs.

 

I didn't think she would cop Bikini Kill for the opener.

Should’ve ended with “favorite crime” but this is certainly a pop album of the year contender.

 

I really enjoyed this. Definitely a pop AOTY contender.

I'm absolutely blown away. This album is beautiful, heartbreaking and timeless.

 

the CD pre-order is sold out on Target.com haha

maybe it only sells like 200k but physical sales are going to exist for this - especially with the alt covers and what not

again it's too bad there is such a vinyl backup right now because she's gonna do a killing on those sales in August.

I think people who’ve only heard drivers license will be surprised a bit at how much this rocks and or rolls

 

It’s not a masterpiece but it’s a hell of a debut. And I STRONGLY disagree with p4k that she oversings “enough for you”. I think the lack of artifice in her singing and Dan’s restraint in overpolishing and scrubbing her vocals is this album’s strongest selling point.

 

Blindly guessing to get in on the bet, 290k. Prepared to laugh at myself for being wildly off base

 

I hadn’t listened to her until I heard Good 4 U yesterday so didn’t really have expectations coming into this. What an impressive debut. She combines elements of so many artists I love. This has way more of a rock influence than I would had imagined.

Also, I had never heard Drivers License until I played the full album. That bridge/ending is really something else.

Brutal is the coolest song ever wtf

 

This album is awesome. “Brutal” reminds me of “Infinity Guitars” by Sleigh Bells.

 

Starting this now. Brutal is fucking sick.

 

I thought that was a weird criticism too, especially since it's just dashed off with no additional explanation or justification. I've heard lots of oversung pop records and this is not one of them.
