I loved this on first listen, but I can’t even begin to imagine how much The Younger Folk are going to get from it.

That honestly makes me feel better about my emotions haha don’t know how many times I’ve been told my feelings are overdramatize all because I’m a teenage girl. Like people of all ages can feel the same way about heartache!

 

Totally! If anything, I felt emotions more profoundly in my early 20s than in my teens

 

Just wait til you get to your 30s and constantly feel dead inside.

 

For some reason, society likes to judge teenagers, especially teenage girls, like their feelings don’t matter. Feels nice to be heard haha like I remember when I was in my first relationship with this guy that was a bit older than me and emotionally manipulated me like it was nobody’s business. I wish these songs had been out at that time, but I’m glad I’m hearing them now because I honestly feel like they’re helping me process emotions from that time that I ran away from and pushed deep inside.

I’m 34 and I still find music plenty useful for dealing with angst in a healthy way and for remembering things that happened or how they used to feel. No shame in that for me.

 

Like so many others, I can’t help but feel connected to personal and emotional music because of the way it makes you travel through your own emotions and find things in yourself that maybe you haven’t felt before, or at least haven’t felt in a long time. In so many ways it may actually make me more drawn to it when it’s someone going through the late teen/early twenties experiences because those were times when everything felt so huge and so important. At 31 y/o now, with a completely different set of responsibilities and lifestyle changes - I can’t feel some of that stuff in the same grandiose way. So long story short, this album is going to be great haha. Take me back to that time and those feelings.
