I certainly am curious to see if she can keep up her momentum without a huge dramatic real-life storyline surrounding the single. It's impossible to discredit that a huge part of the song's success was the non-musical parts of the release haha. I think the song itself is fine (basically a Julia Michaels ripoff) that wouldn't have done as well from someone else or without the surrounding drama

major Lorde vibes at times

 

very Lorde-y at times, good call. the song really picks up when the drums come in, shout out to Dan Nigro out there making bankkkk

 

the part at the end where she kinda is chanting I KNOW YOU GET DEJA VU is extremely Taylor Swift too

 

Loved the ending. Beginning of the song I was a little disappointed that it was gonna be another slow ballad, but really picks up once the drums kick in.

I like that Billy Joel is like, a not-insignificant character in this song.

 

Loved this as well. This is quickly becoming one of my most anticipated albums for the year

 

Apparently Joshua Bassett, her ex and co-star of the High School Musical show she stars in who is now dating Sabrina Carpenter (who Drivers License was supposedly about), is a big Billy Joel fan.

I also realized today that a fair amount of the verses in her lower register sounds almost identical to Conan Gray, who is another Dan Nigro artist.
