She deliberately wants to do underplays last time because she was still growing as a live performer and she has perhaps the most singularly grueling tour schedule of the year. I’m sure that was true this time around too and there are plenty of folks who begged her to play bigger rooms.
Easy solution: bust out Dan Nigro for a song or two then invite the rest of the band for a full As Tall As Lions reunion set. Simple as that
tonight was so incredibly unreal, what an experience. hearing some of these songs stripped back with Dan and background singers in a thousand person room I truly don’t think I’ll ever be at a show for an artist of her size that would ever be that special and intimate. i see me in some of these shots! it was so surreal to physically be there in person, its almost indescribable to see an artist of her scale play a stripped down, more emotional set to a theater sized room, especially when she's playing arenas next year. i'd love to see her do more of these stripped down sets, theater sized rooms in other cities.
