You were right on point with this, Steve! This whole thing is great, but that guitar on this track was like honey
The first half of this kicks so much ass even if "making the bed" and "logical" back to back is a bit of a slump. I liked but didn't love Sour, feel like the lyrics on this record are so much better. So glad she pretty much fully leaned into the power-pop thing
I didn't love Sour, but the songs I loved I LOVED. This pulls from those songs and gives me a full album of that. This is something that will have last value for at least the rest of the year.
It really does have a similar sound, especially right at the beginning. Probably the last thing she wants to hear after everything with Taylor Swift and Paramore. Hopefully Billy Corgan has more of an Elvis Costello attitude about inspirations.
Yeah, this is awesome. Last two tracks whip so much ass. Only ones that weren't immediate for me were "logical," "get him back!," and "the grudge," but I'm already excited to see how this grows on me.
I think the ballads are fine, but there is a playfulness in all of the upbeat tracks that is (understandably) missing from the ballads, and it’s this playfulness that makes her stand out.
looks like the bonus tracks are tacked onto the end of the four webstore vinyl variants, according to Discogs - one per disc.
Her ballads all kind of blended on first listen, where the other songs all had a really unique charm to them.
