Kacey you gotta keep playing during quarantine to keep those callouses up on your fingers damn!! (Seems like that pink guitar has super high action to be fair though)
Damn I didn't even realize that haha, it's a pretty sick looking guitar regardless Another gem for sure
Vince Gill is the real deal, or at least as much as anyone who's been a part of commercial Nashville in the last 30 years can be the real deal. Lot of respect for him
Okay yeah this "Souvenirs" cover is extremely good. Quick google tells me the Secret Sisters are from Muscle Shoals, wonder if their dad has played on any records down there. He nails the fingerpicking like someone else said in here. Maybe my favorite Prine song too (impossible task to pick a favorite though)
Yim Yames love you like no other but you got a hole in your hat there bud (continuing my live post reactions after getting interrupted for a few hrs)
Anyway, this was an incredible tribute to John. Pretty amazing that they managed to get SO many people to contribute. Really speaks to the kind of impact he had as a songwriter and as a human being obviously
I think I spammed the main country thread about this dude about a month ago but this record is one of my favorites of all time and if you're in this thread you should peep it. More folk/whatever maybe but it's good so who cares

You take those qualifiers out ya mouth when you talk about my man Vince. Haha For real though, not sure what else you could do to prove your bona fides if you're Vince. Literally everything he's done is worth listening to. But Pontiac is my favorite thusfar.
For some reason I always link Lyle Lovett and Dwight Yoakam together (coming on the scene in the late '80s, good grasp of traditional country simplicity, no hesitation about breaking rules/norms). Both are outstanding artists.
I always link him to John Hiatt, in fact every time I listen to a Lovett album I feel like the very next album I put on is either another Lovett album or a Hiatt album. I think I mostly just link them together though bc of how frequently they tour together and bc all the material the two have together on YouTube.
That makes total sense. I really need to hear a full Hiatt album. I also am only just now realizing it's partially because Mary Chapin Carpenter jokes about Dwight and Lyle fighting over her in "I Feel Lucky"
I’m currently obsessed with Crossing Muddy Waters, it may not be his best but it’s such a good album, highly recommend it.
