holy shit that trailer is nuts
I'll watch it.
Cannes: Netflix film Okja stopped after technical glitch - BBC News
this movie looks dope
The Host and Snowpiercer are both exceptional films. So naturally I can't wait for this
I dunno what this shit is but Imma watch it.
Love The Host & Snowpiercer, also love that he's working with Swinton again.
This should be great.
One cinema near me announced they're screening this as a double will with his other films. Got tickets to opening night with Skype q&a and Barking Dogs Never Bite (the only other of his films I haven't seen).
Now this is what a summer blockbuster should be. It's an absolute joy. So much heart, great sense of humor, always thrilling. It's a shame that it was never meant to have that fate. I hope this doesn't get buried being a Netflix release. It's fantastic.
So happy to hear this!
I had no idea this was straight to Netflix. Gonna have to watch at work tomorrow.
Just finished, and very jealous of my friend who got to see it in a theater last week.
Yeah, this was great. Seo-Hyun Ahn did a wonderful job selling her and Okja's bond and just did an all around wonderful job driving the movie. I know it's been 10 years, but the creature CGI has come a long way since The Host. Oh, and Jake Gyllenhaal's character was something.
Is this better than Snowpiercer?
Yes. But I like that film if that gives my answer any different weight.
It's very Spielberg-ian.
the trailer looks pretty awesome! i'll definitely have to check it out this weekend.
It's much different than Snowpiercer, but yeah, it's probably better. Think I still like The Host the most of the three films of his I've seen.
Mother > The Host = Snowpiercer for me but I love all three a great deal. Gonna watch Okja this weekend and Memories of Murder on my next day off
Memories of Murder is best by far! It's like a proto Zodiac.
Mother is probably his best. I got my Korean directors mixed up, and when I looked I found out Lee Chang-dong has not had a film in seven years. That is depressing.
