I just realized I've seen that Minor Moon band live. I went to a showing/premiere of Ratboys song "Alien With A Sleep Mask On" before the album was even announced at Sleeping Village and they were one of the bands who played before that happened. I don't remember their set much but still, that's interesting.

Macie is playing two record release shows at The Hideout for her solo record in September. She’s also opening night one of Thurston Moore at The Empty Bottle in September as part of her duo with Lia Kohl.

 

This is shaping up to be a great solo record

 

Holy fucking shit how did it take me so long to get to this band and this album.

wowwww my jaw was basically on the floor from the first seconds to the end. All the vocal interplay, all the rhythmic choices, all the various meters with no cost to the pop immediacy. Holy shit

 

I assumed this was a different thing that I would not be into, that was so dumb of me

it’s like dirty projectors, Wye oak, and haim all put in a blender
