I’d have to double check 2017 but I’m fairly certain both of their last LPs have wound up in my top 10 for their respective years. Pretty excited about this

Not crazy about the track itself but I love the video! Lotta fun to watch.

Fingers crossed Better Now isn’t an outlier on this! They do the big hook thing really well and all but the moments that always get me are the All We Do/Slip Away/Waste songs, and that’s the closest one so far

 

I heard Hallelujah and saw the video in a department store a few weeks ago, definitely was weird and felt like some sort of like... Imagine Dragons-y influenced BIG sound. Hard to explain

I'm gonna listen eventually but it's low priority, I already know what it's gonna sound like

 

Exactly how I feel. I wanna have faith but the singles for this really bummed me out

 

Surprised with the dismissal of “Hallelujah” above - I thought that was a cool new direction for them.

Overall, yeah this was pretty much what I expected. 3 or 4 songs I like a lot , the rest are just kinda there, and it’s more of something that I’ll throw a song or two on a playlist than it is something I’ll still be coming back to in the next few months

 

Finally got around to this. Actually wound up enjoying a great majority of it — far from their best material on first listen, but like Ultralife they chose the most bubbly songs to be singles which isn’t very indicative of the record as whole. Way more mellow overall than I expected it to be

I gotta admit, for the first time maybe ever... this song sounds like new territory for them

 

I really enjoy the second new song too. Hopes are high that this will be the album that grips me front to back as opposed to a couple great songs and some filler

I'm only 3 songs in, but this is absolutely without a question their best album. Honestly really impressed, did not think they had something like this in them

 

I honestly forgot about these guys. Glad to jump in to the new record and see what's up!

 

It's really sad on a personal level that it took them almost breaking up to find inspiration like this haha. But I guess being blindly in love does make for boring music after a while huh...
