I thought it was weird the couple times people asked me in college what my parents do for a living. Idk it's not Harvard. nobody here is prob that connected and rich like it was such a weird question lol
Don't think I've ever been asked that before so early in meeting someone. I at least have answers that sound spiffy for them.
I think it was cause I'd mention they were coming through town or visiting, so people would think that meant they were traveling for work? Haha idk but my dad works at a grocery store and my stepmom's a waitress so I don't think it was the glam answer they expected.
how weird. but i also kinda get it. it seems like a lot of people don't get visited by/visit their family as much as i expected when i was growing up.
Yeah my family visited a lot cause I went in state and my dad would come up for concerts and hang out. And my mom lived an hour away and idk would get bored or something haha.
I enjoy the tail end (last couple of minutes) of this speech from Jamie from TWLOHA talking about two of his friends have substituted "what are your dreams?" and "what do you want?" in for "what do you do?" as ice breakers/conversation topics. I like that.
humble brag i and my documentary crew have worked with this guy and he's the nicest, most genuine dude
- wearing sandals while having nasty feet - eating with your mouth open, making those disgusting smacky sounds - loud talkers - man buns
When people don't focus on a movie and then whine that it was weird or didn't make sense. Know it alls. The worst is that they turn me into a know it all too because I find them so annoying that I want to take them down a peg and know more than them, therefore becoming annoying also.
most off putting thing ever might be when i hang out with people only to find out that they don't like ANYTHING
