Of Mice and Slipknot? Anyway, really interesting direction they went with here. I Was expecting this first single to cater way more to mainstream rock radio, especially with the momentum these guys have. Not saying this couldn't be played on radio, but I thought they would have released something more melodic/catchy. But they kept it pretty heavy. Interested to hear how the whole album sounds.
Jesus. I thought the whole "holding your face in frustration" thing died out with early 2000s Jonathan Davis.
Oh man, this is so awful. Song and video both. Like a watered down version of Korn for sure hahah. Say what you will about Restoring Force (you're probably right anyways) but songs like "Broken Generation", "You're Not Alone", and "Feels Like Forever" are much better than this. Hopefully this isn't what the new album will sound like overall?
If the rest of the album sounds more along the lines like this verses their last album, then I'm down.
There's a reason this sound has been relegated to joke status for the last several years. This is awful. This band has fallen far from The Flood, an album that I still enjoy quite a bit.
There is 0% of the first 35 seconds of this that was enjoyable in anyway. I couldn't get any further than that.
I still listen to those early Slipknot and Korn albums, but this does nothing for me. That riff sounds cool for the first 20 seconds but the fact that they used it for basically the entire song is super lame. Like, what probably could have been a somewhat interesting song ended up being flat out boring. Also not feeling the mix. Guitars and vocals sound super flat.
This is not his style nor would they choose to produce and record this kind of record with him. As far as I'm concerned the metalcore Sturgis era is dust by now.
