Nice it's only 2000 to restore your reputation which makes it alot easier to keep trying. I get so pumped once its finally stolen lol.
I just started last night with Cyrus because his bio was the most intriguing to me, but now that I've played up to the part where he's about to set off on his journey, I find myself not thrilled with my decision and his character. Thoughts?
I put XC2 on hold for this one. Have you been playing the sidequests in XC2? I personally think that's what burnt me out on the game because I love it otherwise. The sidequests just last too long and net very little considering the effort they take.
I haven’t fully come around on Cyrus but scrutinize is one of the more important path actions and he has great SP and his ability to identify enemy weakness is super helpful especially early on. Def not the worst character to start with
I've heard good things about Cyrus late game - I'd just move forward and grab the next character unless you really, REALLY hate him and can't see him taking up a place in your party.
I’ve been trying to grind everyone to keep them similarly leveled but it’s making it harder to fight tougher enemies with Haanit being my only relatively high level character. I just gave Ophilia a job or whatever so now she can heal everyone and also use elemental attacks
My strat so far like i've mentioned is I have 3 mains, leveled high and strong, then I will rotate the 4th and have them gain lots of EXP while the rest of my party fights off strong enemies. This game requires grinding no matter what though obviously.
I'm not using him as one of my main 4, but he has the ability to just nuke groups of enemies with his magic. Analyze is super useful when entering a new area as well. Since you can't rotate out your first character, I would maybe start with someone else if you really aren't into his story. Each Chapter 1 only takes 1-2 hours and you can always skip cutscenes. Same, I did this with Therion yesterday. My 3 main members were in the upper 20's and he was level 12. I went to the Carrion Cave in the Cliftlands and grinded a bunch until he got to the recommended level 22 for his 2nd chapter. I'll do the same for the other 3 I'm not using too. Dang, I'm going to have to give this another serious go tonight! The only amazing steal I had was getting the +80 speed accessory with a 3% steal chance on the first try.
After about an hour of trying I got the Golden Axe, woooo I almost instivetely reset the game when I got it though lol
I thought it was gonna be longer than an hour tbh haha I like grinding in games so it was no big deal
I’m now just trying to finish the rare blade collection. I’ve opened at least 250 cores of all types with no luck. I’m only doing side quests for the blades at this point. The standard side quests are pretty bad though. Nothing like the original.
Do you just fail 5 times and return to the title screen then load the autosave? I haven't tried it yet but this what I'm doing tonight lol
I thought it autosaved after each unlock? I’m going to do this last quest for the blade named Theory and then open the rest of my cores. If I don’t get a rate blade I’m just going to finish the game and move on to something new. I love XB2, but I feel like I’ve been in a bit of gaming rut.
Yes, that's exactly what it is. But the reason why I like it, as a Zelda fan, is because I finally get to play as characters that I wouldn't get to explore more of otherwise like Skull Kid from Majora's Mask, Tetra from Wind Waker, Spirit Zelda from Spirit Tracks and a bunch of others. I like seeing all the cool combos and powers they have. I like being able to go through the locations of different games with characters from other entries. I've said this before but it's really cool going through a Wind Waker level, complete with enemies, music and art style with a character from Twilight Princess with a completely clashing art style. It also really makes me want to replay all the Zelda games. Is it a wondefully deep combat system? No. It's mostly just doing the same powerful combos over and over again on hoards of enemies. But the Adventure Mode is super cool to me because I get to do challenges based on specific entries in the franchise while exploring an overworld map in the style of a 2D Zelda game. Here's a very quick overview from a Nintendo Direct about the Adventure Mode:
