Beat it on the first try with everybody alive. I feel like it took an hour though. Now for the secret boss I guess. I never attempted it in the first game.
I’ve been obsessed with this game recently. I’m working on doing all the characters’ chapter twos. The writing and visual style are top-tier. @wisdomfordebris
A game with its own thread! Thanks for tagging - will post my senseless updates about my progress/thoughts/questions here.
I’m pretty much at a standstill in Octopath Traveler 2 because I made it to Canalbrine and never want to leave.
I wanna play this again but I know I should play bravely default 2 first since I’ve never played it. I still think this is the best game of the decade so far besides Elden ring
Started playing 2 again bc this thread got bumped. Just picked up Osvald and found my first secondary job, the inventor
I've said it a million time on this site but the soundtrack to the first game was my most listened album like 3 years in a row lol this was always my fav
one of my favorite things about these games is summoning the NPCs you recruit into battle. random grandmas wiping enemy mobs will never not be awesome
The thing I like most about the game is all the characters and storylines are so different, but offer so much about the world. Agnea is a dancer that wants to spread cheer and Temenos uncovers a conspiracy with his religious order and hidden ancient civilizations.
Like I said in the video game thread octopath 1 is an 8/10 game and 2 is a 10/10 game I think it’s worth checking out maybe not finishing if you just want more of the aesthetic and style
OT1 will always be incredibly near and dear to me, but 2 improved upon it in every way. The first one might seem formulaic in comparison - 8 characters with 4 chapters each whereas 2 changed the structure/chapter format up a bunch. 2 also added the day/night cycle and the side chapters with pairs of characters, whereas the 'interaction' between characters in the first one is limited to tavern banter. Same fun battle system, same beautiful graphics, same incredible music, so there's that.
Are all side quests solvable staying within the respective town or do they sometimes require traveling around/progressing?
