Not being able to swap your main character out until you beat their story is pretty dumb. It just seems fundamentally at odds with the way they chose to tell these stories
Other than the way the stories are handled, I think this is probably the main complaint from what I've seen.
it's not stopping me from enjoying the game or anything, it's just odd considering there's some freedom in what order you do the stories. Also I'm neurotic about tryna level my characters up somewhat evenly
I've just accepted that I am going to have to do some heavy grinding sometimes, I'm weird, I like grinding lol.
I wasted a solid hour trying to steal very strong equipment that only had a 3% chance of success. I would save, try 5 times and then try again after restarting lol. I got cyrus some extremely strong armor.
yeah I figure once leveling up starts to take a bit longer, it should be easy for the newer characters to catch up. Plus the combat is so tight I don't mind checking out for a bit and grinding
A poll from reddit that asked who everyone started with Therion, 19.1% (3,191) H'aanit, 15.1% (2,527) Ophilia, 15.1% (2,518) Cyrus, 14.1% (2,360) Tressa, 11.3% (1,882) Olberic, 9.5% (1,580) Primrose, 9.2% (1,544) Alfyn, 6.7% (1,113)
I finally beat my first Chapter 2 yesterday (Primrose). Without spoiling anything, I love how the bosses are displayed as these giant menacing beasts. Nice throwback to the SNES FF games. And yeah I'm gonna have to get my grind on. The increase in difficulty is significant from chapter to chapter.
I haven't gotten him yet but apothecary class is the one I'm most looking forward to messing around with
That was my first chap 2 also. Took me 3 tries to take that fucker down. And yes the boss art is terrific.
He's great! Concoct is amazing and makes him well worth it. Give him a good axe and watch him MURDER people with Last Stand and Amputate. I love it!
I'm consistently surprised how beastly Alfyn is. His attack power is through the roof and I just got the passive skill that gives him +500 HP so he's a force to be reckoned with.
Alfyn is my lowest used character. Gonna grind him up the next few days. I challenged this NPC with Olberic and it took at least ten minutes to beat him and inside the house he was blocking was a lady selling a spear with +312 attack damage. This fuckin game man.
Good grief! I've really gotta get in on some of those little things once I get out of everyone's chapter one. My game time is pretty minimal during the week, but hoping I can find a bit this weekend.
So I started with Haanit and got Therion and JUST finished Alfyn's beginning and recruited. Am I the only one with the headcanon that Alfyn and Zeph are totally an item?
There's also a house in Alfyn's home village that has an old man inside with the infamous Golden Axe (+200 ATK, 3% steal chance). I'm not patient enough to do that and reload the game over and over but Alfyn will destroy everything early game with that.
